My Hometown: San Francisco

My hometown is San Francisco, California, and I absolutely love living there. I am a SF kid born and raised and I wouldn’t change it, even if I could. San Francisco may be small compared to most major cities, being only 49 square miles, but it is one of the busiest and most popular cities in the US. I am more specifically from the Sunset District, and if you grow up in a city like SF, you take a lot of pride in where you come from because growing up in the Sunset District, which is kind of laid back, compared to growing up in the Mission district, where the party never seems to stop, are two different upbringings. Sports were a big part of my life in SF, I went to Sacred Heart Cathedral, one of the main high schools around town. We take part in a rivalry series against St. Ignatius called the Bruce-Mahoney Classic. It brings the Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams together in a best of 3 series. Although it doesn’t seem like much, it brings a sell out crowd to Kezar Stadium, the old home of the SF 49ers, University of San Francisco’s basketball pavilion, and the SF Giants stadium, Oracle Park. SF’s Downtown and Mission district come alive and you can always find a party or bar. Growing up there, you also take for granted how many landmarks there are to visit, like the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Pier 39, Golden Gate Park, and much more. We are an hour away from wine country, 30 minutes from Oakland, and about 45 minutes away from Levi’s Stadium, home to the NFC Champs, the 49ers. I am truly lucky to have grown up in such a beautiful city.
